Gallery Walls

I stare at these gallery walls as I'm trying to find myself
So many pictures and so many paintings of somebody else
I've looked into mirrors I've looked out those windows but none of them help
Been looking so long can't be sure that my mind hasn't gone somewhere else

I'll never get used to saying that we used to
Avoid all the people who ask where she went to

The kinds of things that weigh her down
I tried my best to hide them all
To keep her head above the clouds
The tether only came undone
Now I'm left with all the things
Tattered books and busted seams
Strewn across the space between
These walls I never leave

I listen to the wind as it blows against the faint tick of time on the wheel
I listen to the birds but the words that they're saying are completely unreal
I listen to the voices inside of my head as they tell me I'm ill
But I can hear the flood that's coming and the loss I can already feel

Does she hide in the same quiet places we went to?
Go home with my friends just to spite what we've been through?

The kinds of things that weigh her down
I tried my best to hide them all
To keep her head above the clouds
The tether broke and now she's gone
Now I'm left with all the things
Tattered books and busted seams
Strewn across the space between
These walls she built for me

Staring at these gallery walls I've decided I need someone else
There's too many pictures to hold that I know I can find her myself
I've looked into mirrors I've looked out those windows there's nobody there
Been waiting so long now I know that this road doesn't go anywhere

I'll never get used to saying that we used to
Avoid thinking time's gonna fix what I need to
But I broke and decided to call 'cause miss you
