I used to strive for my salvation
With every failure losing hope
Or stand in pride like I could gain it
Working off this debt I owed
But then my motives did betray me
All my righteous filthy rags
I was broken dead buried
Born again to life at last

My life is hid with Christ in God
I rest upon his righteousness
All I have gained I count as loss
For my life is hid with Christ in God

For all that Christ has done his riches won become my own
And now his law I gladly follow
Once a burden now my joy
I am bound in perfect freedom
I'm his prisoner now by choice

So when my breath is slowly fading
And I see my final setting sun
I will awake like I was dreaming
Find that life has just begun
And heaven's faint and far off echoes
Bursting through an open door
My greatest joys on earth diluted
I will drink them from the source
