Waterfowl

The dew settles down
The night comes around
Still coming from the north
A lone waterfowl

Her journey could go wrong
Her path is very long
But 'cross the crimson sky
Her figure floats along

She is returning home
Retreating from the cold
Seeking a warmer place
Warmer than what she's known

We don't know where we are
We don't know what we'll cross
But with guidance we are
Lone wandering, but not lost

All day her wings have fanned
Above the sea and sand
Though the dark night is near
She'll enter welcome land

And soon her journey ends
She'll find home, breathe and rest
And join amongst her friends
As reeds shelter her nest

As the sky hides her flight
I'm left to walk the night
But with the lesson learned
I begin to realize

That I am guided here
Though my path isn't clear
Regardless what I'll fight
You'll lead my steps aright

He who from zone to zone
guides the boundless sky thy certain flight
in the long way that I must tread alone
will lead my steps aright
