Hitchhiker
A winter chill
Sets on his skin
As he stands
By the side of the road
Rain begins to fall
Meeting the ground
With that strange
Uneasy smell
Water runs down
His face
As the next set of headlights
Appear in the distance
Wiping his face
In calm precision
He steps towards
The car
His smile hiding
His intent
His facade earns his place
In the passenger seat
Only he knows
What will become
Of his shelter
From the rain
Sets on his skin
As he stands
By the side of the road
Rain begins to fall
Meeting the ground
With that strange
Uneasy smell
Water runs down
His face
As the next set of headlights
Appear in the distance
Wiping his face
In calm precision
He steps towards
The car
His smile hiding
His intent
His facade earns his place
In the passenger seat
Only he knows
What will become
Of his shelter
From the rain
