Stories

I look around at all the faces
So many people from all different places
So many stories that I'll never get to hear
Maybe you've got secrets or you've told a lie
Maybe just last week you learned to fly
I don't know about you but what I've found is this

We may be different but we're all the same in a way
We're all different writers writing the same play
Different settings different characters
But they all love, and lose, and hurt, and heal, and laugh, and cry, and learn
We're all people and we all have worth
Maybe we're different on the surface or even in birth
But we all have hearts, we all have minds, and the ability to be kind
So let's use it
Because the world could use a little more heart, and mind, and kind

I see some smiles and too many frowns
Don't know what's going on in your towns
But I know that you'll never be alone
I may not know you but I'm here for you
And there are others who are there for you too
You may not feel it but trust me you belong

We may be different but we're all the same in a way
We're all different writers writing the same play
Different settings different characters
But they all love, and lose, and hurt, and heal, and laugh, and cry, and learn
We're all people and we all have worth
Maybe we're different on the surface or even in birth
But we all have hearts, we all have minds, and the ability to be kind
So let's use it
Because the world could use a little more heart, and mind, and kind

I know it isn't easy
To stay good, and patient, and kind
When hate and anger
Are the only things on people's minds
Just remember

We're all people and we all have worth
Maybe we're different on the surface or even in birth
But we all have hearts, we all have minds, and the ability to be kind
So let's use it
Because the world could use a little more heart, and mind, and kind
