100 Birds

A hundred birds
Last night I shot my hundredth bird
She was a foxy little bird
Baby, baby don't you say a word
Cause if her daddy heard
That I took his bird
Then I'd for sure
Be dead
I need some lovin to fill my soul
Cause I hate spendin a night alone
I know I can't hold on forever baby
So I'm gon make the best of what we got today
Now I might not be keepin up with ya daily
I wanna let you know what you mean to me
I just want your body won't you give it to me, slowly
A hundred birds
Now a hundred is a lot of birds
And if there was one thing I had to say
At the end of the day
They're all the same
But if ya dig what i say
You can come back to my place
So I can hit my hundred and first today

I had dream where I spoke to a future version of myself
He said something like
Young man, this world ain't for the frail
And if you feel like slipping through cracks then boy you might as well
Let me tell you somethin
I've lived a long life accomplished nothin
When I was young was when I started drummin
All your dreams can melt into sea
You can probably see just how they have for me yeah
I'm on the street
Lonely as can be
The only friend I got is the dude who sells me kis yeah
Borderline mind
And I'm outta mine
I'm looking for signs
Not to get in trouble tonight
You gotta getcha mind right
Or you'll never find
That little birdie in your mind
She's gonna slip right past your eye
And the loneliness you feel inside
Never really will subside
It never really does subside
A hundred birds
