Happy, Angry Faces

Happy, angry faces, they come creeping down the hall
Equipped with grins and smirks and sins
They're surely doomed to fall
The corners of their lips
Swaying like a pirate ship
Crooked as an arrow
Piercing through the innocent
Teary, weary eyelids, they'll be closing out the show
Tight-lipped when all the curtains fall
An encore tomorrow
Behind their silver screen
Lies another ill machine
Robbed of all religion
Lost inside a bitter dream

Tell me when did you lose your faith in this place
Was it when they bottled your happy, angry face
And sold it to the charlatans so they could have a holiday
At the expense of your smile
