The Passion

Yeah this that Calvary music right here
Just thinking back to that day
When He gave it all

But death couldn't hold Him down
And I know that His love won't fail us now
That God made right our wrongs
To Him all the honor and the Glory belongs

He came for the sinners, the captives, blind, and broken-hearted
In a little town called Bethlehem is where it all started
Jesus came to the earth, shepherds rejoiced at his birth
And the kings of the east came to bow down at His feet
He laid low for many years till his time had come
Baptized in the Jordan, God's Beloved Son
In His presence undone and from the words of His tongue
No one speaks like He speaks, surely, He is the One
He hung out with the sinners as the Pharisees mocked Him
Only problem was, the Pharisees couldn't stop Him
Demons trembled with fear, as Jesus walked down the street
And then the lame men would rise and get back on their feet
The sick were healed, the dead were raised, like every single day
And Jesus kept in moving, seeking sheep that went astray
But time was running out, His boy was seeking to get paid
And other cats were scheming to put Jesus in the grave

But death couldn't hold Him down
And I know that His love won't fail us now
That God made right our wrongs
To Him all the honor and the Glory belongs
Cause on the third day He rose
Resurrected from the dead, got up out them grave clothes
All our sin He forgave
And He promised to be with us for the rest of our days

They came for Him at night, with clubs, swords and weapons
From chief priests to elders, Judas leading the procession
Had Him bound and arrested, then they drilled Him with questions
Only problem was, they couldn't find a transgression
But He said He was the Christ and for this they despised Him
Same crowd that use to praise Him, now yelling, Crucify Him!
But like a sheep before its shearer, Jesus said no word
Destined to bear the world's sin and then raise on the third
Had Him beat, had Him scourged, He wore the crown of thorns
Sentenced to die with two thieves as cats mocked and scorned
But for the joy set before Him, He endured that cross
Nailed through His hands and feet, but Jesus took it like a boss
Laid down His own life as He gave up the Ghost
Then He descended down to Hell and left His enemies toast
Took back the keys of death as He rose from the dead
Then met up with His boys to celebrate and break bread

This one man died for all that our sin would be forgiven
Now risen, ascended up to Heaven, God's provision
Sent down the Holy Spirit to His children He has given
And promised to be with us in our hearts, forever livin

Cause death couldn't hold Him down
And I know that His love won't fail us now
That God made right our wrongs
To Him all the honor and the Glory belongs
Cause on the third day He rose
Resurrected from the dead, got up out them grave clothes
All our sin He forgave
And He promised to be with us for the rest of our days
