Onion King

His name was folly and his road was hard
He found himself in an old abandoned car
Life was different than the days before
When he was king the 7th floor
Life was simpler and now he is old
Livin' under a place that he once sold

Life doesn't always turn out like it seems
Turn your back and your dreams might start to bleed
Turn your back and your dreams might start to bleed

He turned invisible, only to those with dough
He's missing all the friends that he once knew
To pass the time, as the cars drove by
He built a garden under I-45
He started with flowers in his withered fashion
He named them Hope, Love, and Compassion

Life doesn't always turn out like it seems
Turn your back and your dreams might start to bleed
Turn your back and your dreams might start to bleed

He began to grow fruit, nuts, and other things. He began to feed the underlings
Children gathered round with their hungry sighs, he just fed them right
Started to sell, bake, and begin anew, with a whole new look on the avenue
Nothing's gonna stop him from his life anew, He's the Onion King
People gather round to visit him now. He's got a shop on the old canal
He'll never forget where he once came, sitting out in the rain

Life doesn't always turn out like it seems
Don't turn your back on your dreams
Life doesn't always turn out like it seems
Because one day you might become the Onion King
