May the Flowers Remind Us

May I never lose sight of the fact
There's always something to learn
No matter where I'm at
And if I ever find myself off track
May the universe gently come calling me back

And may the flowers remind us of the life that's behind us
That allowed us to bloom, allowed us to grow
And from time to time, may we pause long enough to find the reasons
Remembering why, sometimes we need that rain to flow

May I never grow too proud or too old
To dance in the rain, to laugh at the cold
And may I never lose my wonder and joy
In how the sun steps aside so the moon can be bold

And may the flowers remind us of the life that's behind us
That allowed us to bloom, allowed us to grow
And from time to time, may we pause long enough to find the reasons
Remembering why, sometimes we need that rain to flow

I've always been the wandering kind
Oh Lord don't let me lose the ways you've made me so inclined
To sway a little outside the lines
Let each day be a tool that refines

And may the flowers remind us of the life that's behind us
That allowed us to bloom, allowed us to grow
And from time to time, may we pause long enough to find the reasons
Remembering why, sometimes we need that rain to flow
