Chateau

The pieces of the thesis
Were never quite aligned
Now it's running, engine humming
Saving myself, I'm alive

The premise of a promise
No one said that I would survive
Walked into the hurricane alone
Still have all my bones, I'm alive

I've come across a plateau
Next to the spinning chateau
I'm the only thing
Cemented into the ground
My insides are churning
The bright lights are burning
But when they let me in
I'll finally be found

Were not where they should be
Now it's swimming, lights are brimming
Reflecting off the surface of the sea

The vision of a vast valley
That would clinch and not let go
Is a tale that had taken its toll
But I have walked through the sleet and the snow

And come across a plateau

Cemented into the ground
