The light disappeared in the sky
The crowd thinned and the people stopped walking by
Thus began the night
Of the first time I ever felt alive
Nothing around but you
And the sound of the waves
Trying to eat up the land
That I stand on
But it was time to move on

So we ripped the night
Carving through the streets
In the dark we'd meet
With the Rogue Knight of the Lonely

A disheveled visage in a window pane
The rogue knight spoke
And hope rushed into my ears
Yet I couldn't hear
I turned and yearned to tell you
But you already knew
The heinous lie that this rogue loathed
The pain inside was all a joke to most
Eroding sanity
Won't you let us breathe

A man spoke out
He was a risible reckoner
Making lessons of the visions
He'd seen in the back of his eyes
But we knew he was right
It's frustrating to be
An unagreeable soul
Cultivating the seeds

And we became
The lines on our face

Gripped by age
We looked back on the better days
But in the memory haze
