3 Crosses

Their life and their religion
They were forced to compromise
But even pre-ordained commission
Would never lead to their demise

And still our movies and our textbooks
Would like to lead us to believe
That they really were only murderers
And terrorists and thieves

Three crosses stand
In the desert sand
Three fathers gone
They were not alone
Three sisters crying
For the ones who died
Now three spirits time has come
For they know not what they've done

They never knew an inquisition
No holocaust could they foresee
They were never really helpless
At the hands of destiny

Their history wasn't written
By some college teacher's pen
But in the blood of all the warriors
Who bravely met their end

Three crosses stand
In the desert sand
Three fathers gone
They were not alone
Three sisters crying
For the ones who died
Now three spirits time has come
For they know not what they've done

Three crosses stand
In the desert sand
Three fathers gone
They were not alone
Three ships approaching
From the other side
If the judgment day must come
Lord have mercy on their sons
