The Answer Is Not on Facebook

Pacing the afternoon waiting for my laundry to stop spinning
Hating the one upstairs for cigarettes and sounds that make their way to me
Snow outside presses against the door and holds me captive in my own home

And I keep reading over the same lines
I used to know how to cope, there was a time

I need to learn to be alone again
It is the only way that I'll get anything done
I need to listen to that still small voice
The one that tells me of my purpose here
I need to take responsibility
Stop blaming everybody else but me
I need to offer what I have to give
To serve in love, that I may truly live

And the answer is not on Facebook
A text won't make this feeling disappear
The solution is not as simple
As a ten-question quiz will reveal
And a plane can only take me so far

I need to learn to be alone again
It is the only way that I'll get anything done
I need to listen to that still small voice
The one that tells me of my purpose here
I need to take responsibility
Stop blaming everybody else but me
I need to offer what I have to give
To serve in love, that I may truly live

And the answer is not on Facebook
A text won't make this feeling disappear
The solution is not as simple
As a ten-question quiz will reveal
And a plane can only take me so far
Oh, a plane can only take me so far
So far
