Minor Things to Change

I lay my head down now to sleep, but darkness, it ain't what I see
My mind's eye is clouded in fantasy
Faces of people who look like friends, mystic places I've never been
Situations I could never be in

Don't tell me that this all has been for nothin'
Don't tell me all my work has been in vain
I am sure that one day I'll be someone
I've just got some minor things to change

The journey thus far's been a breeze, though I am plagued with mediocrity
Pennsylvania has been pretty kind to me
Pickup games and lifelong friends, sky high drives down old dead ends
Recollection makes clear whatcha miss

I may not retain too much from class, but here's some knowledge that I'll pass
Don't let all your memories fly by too fast
Before you know it innocence is gone, you move outta town to get a job
And say a hard goodbye to everyone

Don't tell me that this all has been for nothin'
Don't tell me all my work has been in vain
I am sure that one day I'll be someone
I've just got some minor things to change
