Into the Clotted Neon Tide

Spent lives lie in lye
Charcoal clouds trail behind
Squalling falls, screeching gales
Brushing back the scalding scales
Entombed within the sun-bleached stone

Smeared across the vision
Brushing, burning low set clouds
Spew forth as open mouths
My teeth tie to knots
There are no words
I dip my infinite arms into the clotted neon tide

By the heels of those I drag down with me I will lift my body
Self indulgent depression building nothing
Now less has become too much
I just won't know any world outside the self

I was born
I knew I was nothing in a still pond
As presence is relative and stimulus clots the bleeding mind
When this world is torn I could be so much more
In these ashes caked to my teeth is what you might have been had it not burned
I felt so small but I've never been
Arms bleed from reaching through the shattered sill
I will cultivate this way to see the world
