Dark Extra Light

I wandered off in wide circles
Mind and senses half awake
Wrapped myself in blissful dreams
Protected by the strings of a Canadian knight

The white coat cannibals were invited
To slide their forks into my side
And in between the shoulderblades
My flesh a panna cotta for them to try

I could not see what my host was hiding
It was glad to meet your prying eyes
The party was dull, no champagne at the Hilton
Sir Anthony's brutal gaze proved me wrong

But the cuts you barely see
So now the flag that I carry
And where to plant it forcefully
That's up to me to decide
The earth is crumbly and mine

The lonely creatures jump from the river
The splashing, the jaws all ready to snap
Behind the stream comes prancing the darkness
In its fur black coat eager to gobble you up

Through the fog around the circus
I see that little red ball that's the sun
A whisper cries: what is the meaning of this?
The senseless blackness punctured by song.

But the scars you barely see
So now which guns to take with me
To battle this old enemy called failure
That's up to me to decide
The earth so crumbly and mine
