Asthma

Stuck in a children's hospital
I prayed I'd died before I got old
In my sleep I tore out my IV
And bled all over my bedsheets
The walls were pretty peppermint green
When my family who came to visit me
But it didn't make me happy

Six in a hay barn I lost my soul
I could barely breathe on the bus ride home
The steroids they used to medicate
Made my body hurt and I gained weight
As a kid I felt so ugly
I didn't know what the doctors had done to me
To this day I cursed this body

And I read steroids could trigger bipolar disorder when you're young
And now I know why I can not have fun
I know why I can not feel loved
I know why I miss being young
