West Yellowstone

Western Yellowstone is such a friendly place
Where the animals are free to roam and play
And so it is right here I'm making my decree
I will live my life with spontaneity

The summers blazing sun, the water's biting sting
Today won't hold me back from doing my own thing
The sharpness of the rocks, my inhibitions weight
But I will take the plunge and I will tempt my fate

All alone you are weaving through the streets
On your way to work, will you think of me
You pass the house and feel incomplete

The great Smithsonian is such a regal place
Where the native sons are free to stay up late
Independent films and karaoke tunes
Will rise up to the loft, will fill up all the rooms

All alone you're watching re-runs in the dark
And here I lay on my back under the stars
Wishing you weren't quite so far

Western Yellowstone is such a lovely place
But weekends have an end, and we've been here for days
So I will pack my bags and I will take with me
My Honda racing coat and my spontaneity

When I get home, I will hop right in my van
And climb 2nd North to be close to you again
'cause you are a star, and I'm your fan

And I could stand and cast my line for all my days
Through the night hoping that my patience pays
I'd never catch your equal - no fish so rare and true, no
You are the best and I love
You are the best and I love
You are the best and I choose you
