Pillar of Fire

The sun set down
At the edge of the ocean
A stylite on a pillar of fire
It's chariot persists
Like an act of contrition
And follows the dark stream of the sea
In a never changing path of perpetual motion
Through the ever changing lens of the sky
The arrows of the sun
Point the westward direction
And bend round the steadiest line
The sun can warm but never illuminate
The Old Straight Track to my heart
Locked within
These bones are like scaffolding
Upon which is stretched my skin
The template of time
It traces my countenance
Like a dark cloud obscures the sun
Or mercury glass reflecting the form
Of all I may one day become
The sun can warm but never illuminate
The Old Straight Track to my heart
Locked within
These bones are like scaffolding
Upon which is stretched my skin
The template of time
It traces my countenance
Like a dark cloud obscures the sun
Or mercury glass reflecting the form
Of all I may one day become
The sun can warm but never illuminate
The Old Straight Track to my heart
Locked within
These bones are like scaffolding
Upon which is stretched my skin
The template of time
It traces my countenance
Like a dark cloud obscures the sun
Or mercury glass reflecting the form
Of all I may one day become
