Final Rant

Unconditional equality doesn't have to be a fallacy
There is value in empathy
In fact I believe it's our greatest currency

Ok so Opiates they continue to be prescribed
Still abused all the time
So why is it a fucking crime
If you use a plant to catch a high

And doctors right
These goddamn doctors
They try endlessly to numb your pain
Sometimes though it'll never go away
So all you can do is something daring and brave
Maybe just maybe try to make it through the night
Just to see another day

I know this particular set of songs
Won't agree with everyone's point of view
I know that most of us are just trying to make it through
I know that a lot of what I say may come off a bit rude
But why is brutal honesty so often made taboo

I'm sick and tired of bigotry
Fed up with hypocrisy
It's such a dangerous ideology
That differing opinions should make enemies

Alright so I keep hearing about this thing right
I'm pretty sure it was in the fucking constitution so let me ask you this
Where is the separation of church and state
And why are we using god as a fucking band aid
To justify passing laws that only promote hate
When will we realize what's at stake

I know this year has been a shit show
Morale has been a bit low
Rona has us in a choke hold
Some folks refuse to wear a mask though

Now I'm a pretty observant guy so check this out
This is what I've noticed
During this pandemic some act pretty apathetic
Some try to be prophetic but I'm just trying to be poetic
While trying to send a message to the people that don't get it
That our society depends on understanding one another
When we waste our precious time here on earth
Hating our own brothers
We are ushering in the war of hate from which we will not recover
And I just want to end the black and white
So that maybe we can see more colors

I know these topics may be upsetting
I know that this album might have been depressing
I know the way this world likes to keep us guessing
But these are the issues I think we should be addressing

So leave behind the hate
Abandon xenophobia
Because it's not too late
To cast our own utopia
