A Tale of Happiness and Sadness

Turbulent and frightening
Our lives can often be
Eyes open underwater now
Cannot escape the deep
And though the tales of sadness
Often cling upon our flesh
Just know our graves are not dug yet
Our lives can start afresh

Because the tales of happiness
Are still so often told
We may find our way there still
Upon the narrow road

It's hard to bear the sight
Of any fearfulness or pain
But we can help the ones in need
By looking all the same
It's not an easy feat
To give bright colors to the pale
But people have come far before
We know much of the trail

Because the tales of happiness
Are still so often told
We may find our way there still
Upon the narrow road

Our actions shape the world
In ways we cannot comprehend
So I will try to point them toward
A gratifying end

Because the tales of happiness
Are still so often told
We may find our way there still
Upon the narrow road
