Composed

There once was a girl
Intrigued by existence
Her moments of weakness
Strength and resistance
She sat near the bank
Of a river reciting
The words to the surface Each one bouncing back lightly

Words spill from my lips Seem to speed from my mind
Run-on's and tell me
What is worthy of rhyme?
A central idea
And a vague storyline
A lover, a traveler
Here's what I find

My mind is on sunsets
And light through the trees
It's focused on stars
And it's drawn to the sea
Dives to the depths
And expanding beyond
I can't seem to keep
My feet on the ground

She sang to the sea
She sang
To the light through the trees
She sang
To the moments and when
She sang she composed

She sang to the sea
She sang
To the light through the trees
She sang
To the moments and when
She sang she composed

I can't seem to keep
My feet on the ground
I can't seem to keep
My feet on the ground
Can't seem to keep
My feet on the ground
I can't seem to keep
My feet on the ground
