Wishes

This feelings displacement
Suddenly disconnect
The joyful amazement
Never losing direction
The unexpectation
No grieving or preparation
We recognize how much Jesus that we be craving
But I ain't gone pretend to be preaching
I ain't gone sit around acting like you do the pledge of allegiance
I'm mentally weakened
Government always creeping
They say we under God but whose words are we speaking
Ever since I was a little boy
I felt like the middle child of Black America Uncle Tom's little toy
My self esteem was destroyed
But I suffered building my own identity
And that a boy
As I look swimming through this weather
Walking through the stages of life of the crooked letters
The Lord is my Shepherd
Counting all my blessings my life is getting better

I wish this was the end of the chapter
I wish we didn't have to say black lives matter
I wish America didn't reject our standards
I wish we had change but we took that dagger
I wish American can have accountability
For this damn history
And the things that it did to me
I wish America can take responsibility
Then maybe we can live free up in our dignity

No discussion, keep it moving
They say that Black America is government pollution
They say that it's a choice damn sure it's not a movement
Where would America be if slavery wasn't recruitment
Gone let that sink in, pride of America built off my skin
Patiently waiting, back breaking, life begin
Blind folded for many years still no respiration
Fighting modern slavery, no rehabilitation
Man I'm wishing, man I'm wishing
That's the misprint of America didn't need a recognition
They say make America great, slavery was intended
Fight in this land and our equity still missing
Heart to heart, evil is pain
The only pain that I'm faced with is a hashtag to my name
It's reality, I live my life to make a change
Soon I'll fight for the souls that always will remain
And for those whoever doubted me
I'd rather build my community than live cowardly
Slow process
Slowly making monopolies
Investing in myself and giving back to my property

I wish this was the end of the chapter
I wish we didn't have to say black lives matter
I wish America didn't reject our standards
I wish we had change but we took that dagger
I wish American can have accountability
For this damn history
And the things that it did to me
I wish America can take responsibility
Then maybe we can live free up in our dignity
