In His Presence

Where can you be, Oh Lord my God?
I've been searching but you've gone so very far
You were here right by my side
And though I'm still your child I forgot you in my pride
My own way instead of yours
As I wandered farther from you, Oh Lord
But now I'm on my knees
Crying, "Father, forgive me I plead!"

How I am longing to be with you, Lord
But I don't know what to do
And my heart is aching to dwell in your will
But why can't I seem to pull through?
How I long just to live in your love once again
And no more will I endure
Far away from your presence, Oh Lord

Not long ago when all was well
I walked close to you always seeking your will
But somehow I was led astray
I forgot you Lord choosing rather my own way
But I long to be with you
More than anything for this day I choose
No longer to try to live
