Digging in the Sand

Tried to think of a metaphor to describe our love
But this was all that came to mind
Can't stop thinking of

How I want us so bad, but you won't let it get that far
And I just want to love you, but it's tearing us apart

It's like digging in the sand,
try to get a little deeper but it all comes crumbling down
And you try to hold it back,
keep from falling, but there's really no use now

Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand

Tried to think of what to say to make it right again
But all it did was break us more, bring it to an end

And you know that I want you, but you wouldn't let me in
And you let me down gently, as soft as your skin

It's like digging in the sand,
try to get a little deeper but it all comes crumbling down
And you try to hold it back,
keep from falling, but there's really no use now

Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand

Digging in the sand (digging in the—mmh)
Digging in the sand (digging in the—ahh)
Digging in the sand
Digging in the sand
