Opened my eyes
In the middle of the night
Awaken to the sound
Of my neighbors making love
Couldn't fall back asleep
I decided to go out for a walk
When I saw Nick Cave
Sitting by my neighbors' door
He had a glass in one hand

A notebook in the other
On which he was writing like a fool
At every sound they made
He just scrawled non sense

The door burst out

The man fled the room
Left the woman in tears
She's lying on the bed

Her heart falls on the floor
For her first love is dead
