It Won't Change a Thing

We try to run and beat the clock but were only running out of luck
So, it don't matter if you take your time
You know it could be changed somehow but if things don't look to good by now
It won't get better down the line

If we could only hold back fall
Then it wouldn't seem so bad at all
Or we can sit and wait for spring
But in the end, it won't change a thing

We tried to take it in our hands
And argue now who's in command
Don't you think the world could use a touch of grey
But you're the one who knows what's right
And the others haven't seen the light
But sure enough you won't lead the way

If we could only hold back fall
Then it wouldn't seem so bad at all
Or we can sit and wait for spring
But in the end, it won't change a thing

Everyday you're getting older
You can feel the weight on your shoulders
But no one can save the world on their own
I know that you'll keep marching on
And if your marching all alone
You'll need someone to take you home

Maybe we can't hold back fall
And to you it might feel oh so wrong
But we could sit and wait for spring
And in the end, it might change a thing
