Salt of the Earth

We're told to breathe
To inhumane for our eyes to see
Burning flames alight

Let's cut to the chase
To see what's hiding in the human race
Millions full of spite

Sorrow in your eyes
Yours can follow mine

We've reached a point where we can't face ourselves
And through all this I know I'm not myself
We tried our best, so be it
Only time will tell
Salt of the earth

We're lost at sea
Burning bridges, mourning history
Now we turn the tides

We cannot sleep
Drowned in our own misery
Fight through hopeless nights

We could fly so high
Save this falling sky

We've reached a point where we can't face ourselves
And through all this I know I'm not myself
We tried our best, so be it
Only time will tell
Salt of the earth

Hold your silent tears
Is it finally clear
Safe, exempt from fear
Sent our prayers and now they're here

Looking at the mess in front of us that we have made
Regret our poor decisions all the hate we could have changed
We look up toward the sky to see what god values so high
(Mortal human life)

We've reached a point where we can't face ourselves
And through all this I know I'm not myself
We tried our best, so be it
Only time will tell
Salt of the earth

Time will tell
