Lost

Secret dreams and midnight wishes
Running free in my imagination.
I've been scared to say hello
To all these aspirations
Convinced myself that I'm
Just a little mellow.

Sitting by the window
With my ear down to the wood
I'd play as long as I could.
And reality, it never did seem
Just as wild as it should.

If I turn my eyes to the sky
And close them for a minute
As the sound washes over me
I'd realise where I need to be.
Oh a light will burst on through
And I'll be lost in it.
Lost in it.

Put my childish dreams away
Stuffed in a box under the bed
Crammed with papers and my youth
Filled with cursive and heavy things I should have said
But I never thought I could
Here I am, strangely petrified
But now I'm one finally
With the wild one inside me
And though she's taken flight
She hasn't set herself free

If I turn my eyes to the sky
And close them for a minute
As the sound washes over me
I'd realise where I need to be.
Oh a light will burst on through
And I'll be lost in it.
Oh, Lost in it.
