Let's talk about college...
I've been moving around and it's got me down in the dumps
Thought getting out of the house might get me out of a rut
Cut the routine, I'm eighteen, grass is greener and stuff
But it turns out I got burnout cause anxiety sucks
When you aren't at your home, it can get lonely at times
Cause you're away from what you know and that can mess with your mind
But the happiest happiness happened whenever I stopped trying to find it
In the times when folks surprised me with kindness
It was the moments when a friend would reach out to me
And tell me that I'm not alone
All the people who I trust would be there for me
And a thousand group chats on my phone
So now I'm looking back through all of my memories
And seeing how the time has flown
And I'm so happy that I met all the friends who make this place
My home away from home
Now it's been a couple years and I've been doing much better
I'm overcoming all my fears with all my friends who keep me centered
Yeah we've cried a couple tears, but we got through it together
And I know that through whatever we'll never sever our tether
Forever's quite awhile, but it's never enough
To express my gratitude for all the tunes that we've sung
Beautiful stuff, I will treasure all the moments of love
And I will be right by their side no matter what
It's in the moments when a friend will reach out to me
