Raise A Glass

Christmas will be different this year
The streets just aren't filled with as much cheer
There's still no sign of snow
And the lights just faintly glow
It's hard to hold on to much hope

Everything has changed so much this year
Without my friends it seems so quiet here
I want them to be safe
So I must stay away
And hope that next time we can celebrate

So raise a glass for me
Wherever you may be
A toast to your health
Though you're somewhere else
I hope you get your wish under the tree

So here's a glass to you
And everything you do
The nights they may be long
But your memory keeps me strong
And someday soon I know we'll see this through
Next year I swear I'll celebrate with you

This year may have gone slow
But all things must come and go
Let's raise a glass together next year
