The Boy With Wheat Behind His Ear
I went down to the corner store
To fetch my Pa some beer
And in that store I saw a boy
With wheat behind his ear
I asked him if he had a tractor
I could learn to ride
He said yes, we got undressed
Then I became his bride
He got me pregnant on the tractor
I gave birth there too
Jesus gave us twins that day
Named Twin One and Twin Two
We lived inside the tractor
And we lived a happy life
The four of us together
I was proud to be his wife
'Til one day a tornado came
And swallowed up our home
It ate my kids and husband, too
Then I was free to roam
I slept out in the wheat fields
For so many years, alone
Then went back to the corner store
So I could use the phone
I called my Pa to say I'm sorry
I forgot the beer
I got distracted by the boy
With wheat behind his ear
I got distracted by the boy
With wheat behind his ear
To fetch my Pa some beer
And in that store I saw a boy
With wheat behind his ear
I asked him if he had a tractor
I could learn to ride
He said yes, we got undressed
Then I became his bride
He got me pregnant on the tractor
I gave birth there too
Jesus gave us twins that day
Named Twin One and Twin Two
We lived inside the tractor
And we lived a happy life
The four of us together
I was proud to be his wife
'Til one day a tornado came
And swallowed up our home
It ate my kids and husband, too
Then I was free to roam
I slept out in the wheat fields
For so many years, alone
Then went back to the corner store
So I could use the phone
I called my Pa to say I'm sorry
I forgot the beer
I got distracted by the boy
With wheat behind his ear
I got distracted by the boy
With wheat behind his ear
