A Soul on the Run

I spiral insane, popped corkscrew at the neck of the bottle, pop followed
By release and not relief, put the pressure back in, it gives purpose to my ends
I pursue my schemes aimless, intoxicated and shameless, but each sip or sniff
Of elixir a fixture in my motivational rhythm I can't find footing without 'em

So focused on the feeling till I'm not feeling the focus, hocus pocus my way
Through the day, need a miracle to steer me toward the path that will pay
Dividends on what I put in, and not the pain of losing faith once again

Mass produced for a mass of none, I build from other's dreams, proud like
Look what I done. These dreams mask a truth that I shun
My soul is constantly on the run

Run run the race is not given to the swift
But why do we sprint like we're in fifth
I chase the dreams of giants cuz I see my own as small
And when I dream too big it feels like a treacherous fall
Awaits me, crashing into the sea. And so I choose to set my sights on what I see
Instead of cultivating me internally, it's scary to be, vulnerably me
Realizing you got but struggling just the same
With tryna find an ember in a dying flame
You're inspired to achieve and you strive and deliver, never considered
Achievement just makes the emptiness clearer

Find a mirror and examine that spiritual famine crying feed me manna
Don't reject me,what manner of neglect is this? purpose like rays heaven sent
You just aren't sitting still enough for nourishment

Malnutrition by too much of the wrong thing, and
Undervaluing the song that my soul sings
A deficiency in vitamin me, nurturing insecurity, an
Imbalance of needs

Fueled by the voice perceive, and not the voice I left in the sea
Drowning in the sorrow of self-made discrepancies, Skip Skip
Back to me reverse reverse back to me one card left to play
And this might go my way if I focus on uno don't play by the rules you know
Last card in my hands a wildcard means I'm destined to win long as I
Don't take more by drawing four

Every game eventually has to end
When will I stop playing myself and let the light shine in
