Paranoia

Moving through the street
A thought occurs to me
Are there people staring?
Or am I just being crazy?

I'm not the kind to be scared or afraid
But when I see all those eyes I just can't run away
I'm looking up at the sky, I don't hear what you say
It's a choice that I make, my own self I betray

I'd much rather choose to only stare at the sun
My own eyes I would burn, but that's just part of the fun
I'm seeing a face, their soul starts to chase
But my legs are stuck, no I can't be swayed

People watching, all their eyes on me
I see you staring, what do you want to see?
Is there something I'm supposed to say?
I'll keep on searching for another day

An endless cycle of lies
I tell myself in my head,
"Once you get out there, everything will be okay"

Struggles and scuffles
It shouldn't be this hard
Everyone else can do it fine
So why can't I touch this scar?
Memories of moments
They play inside my mind
I wish that some courage would be easier to find

I'm not easily afraid
But people scare me away
Is it just anxiety?
Or is there something deeper in me?

People watching, all their eyes on me
I see you staring, what do you want to see?
Is there something I'm supposed to say?
I'll keep on searching for another day

People watching, all their eyes on me
I see you staring, what do you want to see?
Is there something I'm supposed to say?
I'll keep on searching for another day

People watching, all their eyes on me
I see you staring, what do you want to see?
Is there something I'm supposed to say?
I can't believe I've gone so astray
