The Place

Imagine there's a time
You're drunk at someone's party
Sitting on the floor
Watching life go on
Getting comfortable with the woman next to you
It's clear that she is young, under 21
Influenced by her thoughts
You feel like somethings wrong as the silence tells it all
She starts the conversation
Says "everyone here's wasted"
But a drink is by her side
As she exposes all the things she thinks about at night

She drinks to feel alive
Outside of her body
She wants to run away
You close your eyes and listen as she takes you to this place
Temptations her disease
Addiction got too deep
As much as she has tried to quit the feelings never leave

The feelings never leave

Nobody understands, not even her friends
They don't give her their focus
If this was a cry for help, would anybody notice?
Would anybody notice
