After the Storm

Look at what I've found
My head spins as I hit the ground
And nothing around me makes sense
And I've seen all that I have seen
Still wonder at these mysteries
And heaven only knows that I've tried to understand
Back in this familiar place
But nothing seems to have stayed the same
And I don't quite feel that I fit in my shoes anymore
Yes I seem to have outgrown my shoes
And I find myself singing the blues
And the snow feels cold on the ground all around

And the sun comes up and you're all alone
Wipe away the fog from the window
And feel the way that the trees do sway
But the trees are not afraid
With roots so deep we won't blow away
Like gravity is faith
The storm will pass and the blossoms boom
Yes we are on our way

Sometimes the winter's long
And through the snow we trudge alone
And can't see the light at the end
So we take the things that make our hearts sing
And we hold them close like a diamond ring
And the hardest things are most worthwhile in the end

And the sun comes up and you're all alone
Wipe away the fog from the window
And feel the way that the trees do sway
But the trees are not afraid
With roots so deep we won't blow away
Like gravity is faith
The storm will pass and the blossoms boom
Yes we are on our way

The spring comes and we go outside
In our springtime clothes with our eager eyes
And see the world through a new lens
And accept all the mysteries we fought with so furiously
And just be the best that we could be
And the mysteries, they remain
Sometimes we're not meant to understand
Oh
