How do people do it
The been together fifty years kind of love and they're still sticking to it
No leaving when the going gets tough
Oh how do people do it and make it look as easy as writing their names
When I can't seem to make them stay
Just left with a heart that breaks
Romanticize the lows and the dysfunction
It was kinda fun until it wasn't
Always thought I'd know what love was like but I don't

There's gotta be something more than emotions
More than a feeling more than serotonin
'Cause love is more than just a slogan there's some kind of devotion
At least that's what I think as I've tried to find out what love means in my 20s

Does love change its mind
Here today but gone the next it's all based on the butterflies
That scares me sometimes
Does love always leave when the magic is gone and conversations start diminishing

Is that how it works
I don't think that's true at least I hope it's not true
Maybe I'm just naive or it's the romantic in me
