Hannah Prays

Now, a no one from the nowhere hills, the Israelite, Elkanah
Had a wife named Hannah and a wife named Peninnah
Peninnah had children, but Hannah, she had none
And Hannah was downhearted at what the Lord had done

Hannah prays on her knees
Hannah weeps, Hannah pleads
God, my Rock, You do all things well

When Hannah went to Shiloh to worship and to pray
She said, "If You give me a son, oh God, he'll serve You all his days"
"Hannah, are you drunk on wine?" asked Eli, the old priest
"I was pouring out my soul to God", said Hannah in her grief

Hannah prays on her knees
Hannah weeps, Hannah pleads
God, my Rock, You do all things well

Well, the Lord remembered Hannah, and He granted her a son
Hannah kept her promise after all the Lord had done
She took her boy to Shiloh to serve God all his days
The mighty prophet, Samuel, who led Israel in God's ways

Hannah prays on her knees
Hannah weeps, Hannah pleads
God, my Rock, You do all things well

Well, give the Lord your heartache, give the Lord your pain
Give your life to Jesus, call upon His name
We can learn to trust in God and cast our every care
It's in the old, old story of Hannah and her prayer

Hannah prays on her knees
Hannah weeps, Hannah pleads
God, my Rock, You do all things well
God, my Rock, You do all things well
