Dunes

We took a rusty train to golden plains
They say these western waves are wild
Enough to flood our offices
To the Jordan from the Nile

Barefoot, up and down the dunes
Laughing out loud at red and blue
My suspicions an oasis
Fading as I just stay with you

Waves swept up and took a bite of our story
We beached our fears
And waded in knee-deep

Till like a predator with blood upon her breath
You see the glint of the cross on my chest
And you turn on me
You turn because

There's been a big mistake
I don't have to hate you darling
There's been a big mistake
I don't have to need your ending

It was uncomfortable the next day
While silence ravaged our train
Didn't have much to say
Part of me knew it would end this way

See I don't want you to go
Cause there's so many things I wanna know
Let's put aside our differences
Cause I don't wanna keep fighting

A big mistake
Yeah
There's been a big mistake
I don't have to need your ending
