Something Magic - Live, BBC Radio 1 In Concert, Golders Green Hippodrome, 12 March 1977

Hello, and welcome to Radio 1 sight and sound in concert
Which you can hear not only on the radio one, 247 metres in the medium wave band
But also in glorious stereo, on the Radio 2 VHF network between 88 and 91 megahertz
Or if you prefer you can watch it on BBC 2 in glorious colour if you got a coloured TV that is on BBC 2
Well, tonight's concert promises to be a magical occasion
And I say that not only because our guest this evenin' are one of the world's finest bands
But they've just produced their 10th album
Which is entitled "Something Magic"
And here, with the title track from that album, are the one and only 'Procol Harum'

One, two, three, four

It's the centre of the storm
Somethin' magic being born
When the world is torn apart
By the beatin' of a heart
Like a dam about to burst
Like a drunkard's crazy thirst

In the centre of the storm
Somethin' magic being born

It's the dark hours of the soul
When the nightmares take their toll
When the shadows come to mock
Against the tickin' of the clock
When the demons of the night
Come like vultures for their bite
In the dark hours of the soul
When the nightmares take their toll

It's the dawnin' of the day
Nighttime's panic swept away
When the clouds which seemed so dark
Are exchanged for morning's light
When the stars which burnt so bright
Are exchanged for morning's light

In the dawnin' of the day
Nighttime's panic swept away
Nighttime's panic swept away

Thank you very much and good evenin'
