Communion

On the night Jesus was betrayed
He broke bread, poured a cup of wine and said
To partake remembering Him
And proclaim His death until He comes again
We need to examine ourselves
When we say we are His disciples

I want you, I want you to take
Upon you, upon you His name
This is His body which is for you
Do this in remembrance of Him
For the rest of your days
For the rest of your days, oh

In the Passover there are four cups
The third one He gives to each of us
And the fourth is the celebration
The cup of the harvest we'll drink with Him
So for now we drink the cup of Blessing
His pierced hands we are remembering

I want you, I want you to take
Upon you, upon you His name

This is His blood which is the New Covenant
Drink this in remembrance of Him
For the rest of your days
For the rest of your days

Jesus took the wine and bread and then He
Took up His own cross directly after
We are now to do the same
So we eat and drink and take upon
Ourselves His wondrous name
But we take it in vain
If we say we will go
And then refuse the call

There should be no dividing among us
We rightly divide the Word of God
I want you, I want you to take
Upon you, upon you His name

This is Communion, His death we proclaim
To the world until He comes again
For the rest of our days

For the rest of our days
