This Is Me Trying

Morning comes and I'm exhausted
There sits a word in the back of my mind
Been over it once, been over it twice
It's been a couple years
Constantly tired
I sit here I'm crying, for what?
Even the strongest can feel such weakness in the dark

They think it's cool to use that word of all words against me
They think it's funny to hurt someone who only feels happy once a blue moon
I wish I could get a break, to breathe
To be happy, to be me

I'm sorry I'm not a size 1
Not beautiful as you say
I'm sorry I can't be the one who wakes up perfect in every way
I'm doing all that I can, and that's been what gets me by
Somehow I'll be alright
But for now, this is me trying

By the evening I lay awake, can't sleep
Those sleepless nights I keep writing and wishing I could finally be free
Driving for miles and speeding down highways and roads
Only thing I've been craving is a hug or some loving words (I'm on my way)

They think it's cool to use that word of all words against me
They think it's funny to hurt someone who only feels happy once a blue moon
I wish I could get a break, to breathe
To be happy, to be me

I'm sorry I'm not a size 1
Not beautiful as you say
I'm sorry I can't be the one who wakes up perfect in every way
I'm doing all that I can, and that's been what gets me by
Somehow I'll be alright
But for now, this is me trying

Society has it's funny little ways of creeping up on you
Haunting and joking and picking at every little thing
Cause they don't have that life, that smile, that car, that job, that waist, or that stupid perfect

(Everything will be okay. I think you're amazing. Always remember that please)

As long as you're trying you'll keep on surviving (They're behind you for a reason)
But now, this is me trying (I'm always with you)
