Two Hearts

To get two hearts connected
is different from expected.
They have to find together,
the whole life is affected.
They also have to find out
what they really miss:
What is their heart's desire
in life, in love, in bliss?

He'd walked the extra miles.
The sun was going down.
The sea shone golden.
He didn't turn around.
His heart was running empty
and asked for reasons why.
But nothing was to say than
his wellspring had run dry.

They two had clung together
since many years from now.
(They) got children, got familiar,
a tender band somehow.
But they went rough and tougher.
His heart was bleeding bad.
Until he stumbled away
and lost himself at that.

The search seemed to be endless
– it's hardly done alone.
His grass is green again,
although he's on his own.

is different from what was.
