Maybe You

My pockets are empty, and my mind is so full
Of too many memories from days gone by
But heaven knows, I don't seek silver or gold
That would surely vanish, at the blink of an eye

I never ask for much
More than I can hold or touch

They say that you can't always get what you want
So what else am I supposed to do?
Just live out my days with only a few simple pleasures
And maybe you... and maybe you

In another place and time, maybe I wouldn't mind
Having it all, and then some more
What is it worth, to live free every day?
Well I'd pay a king's ransom, and that's for sure

Nothing ventured. Nothing gained
Nothing up my sleeve. Nothing restrained

My pockets are empty, and my mind is so full
Of too many memories from days gone by
But heaven knows, I don't seek silver or gold
That would surely vanish, at the blink of an eye

Nothing in life is free
If you pay eventually

They say that you can't always get what you want
So what else am I supposed to do?
Just live out my days with only a few simple pleasures
And maybe you... and maybe you
And maybe you... and maybe you
