Let Me Have This

Here's what I think
It's my personal opinion though
You don't have to take it
Opportunity don't really come around
Success is an illusion
When the sun is down
No one's really envious of anybody's joy
Everyone is envious of people's buying power
Let me have this
For years I've been walking from side to side like Charlie Chaplin
Somebody told me that keeping quiet is a talent
In a world where being sober is a challenge
Some take risks
Others take advantage
I learned to use music as an outlet
I was only 10
Didn't know nothing about it
All I knew was the situation that I was in
And that I was too young to even try come out it
Homie called me speaking of purpose
Said I should find it
Said only a fool trips over what is behind him
Told me I will never progress if I'm too focused on the past
I will just stay stagnant like Lot's wife and
I should quit flopping
Now I'm working on my next project
Like LA after building Compton
Think the biggest problem for me is fitting in
I just wish the world was a little more honest
Sitting on the couch
I'm watching current affairs
Seems to me that nothing out there occurring is fair
Momma told me protect your mind
Didn't understand so I grew out my hair
Everybody outgrows something
Whether people or habits
And while I act like I understand it
I don't
I'd like to be the first man I know to publicly apologize for every heart I broke
Wait
Let me have this
For years I've been walking from side to side like Charlie Chaplin
Somebody told me that keeping quiet is a talent
In a world where being sober is a challenge
Some take risks
Others take advantage
Let me have this
For years I've been walking from side to side like Charlie Chaplin
Somebody told me that keeping quiet is a talent
In a world where being sober is a challenge
Some take risks
Others take advantage
