The Desert

I want to get through the day
But the sunrays burn my flesh
All I need is only the rain
But the desert is what remains
The air is stuffy the soil is dry
And my lungs are filled with dust
I can not breathe and it hurts my eyes
I turn away and escape into the sky

The road seems to be endlessly
My feet are weak but my mind is strong
It's like a beach without the sea
It's like an open wound that never heals
I can't make it through the night
It's getting cold and clouds move on
I lose my conscience and my pride
So there is nothing left to hide, goodbye

I want to get through the day
But the sunrays burn my flesh
All I need is only the rain
But the desert is what remains
