The bright sun was extinguish'd, and the stars
Did wander darkling in the eternal space
Rayless, and pathless, and the icy earth
Swung blind and blackening in the moonless air
Morn came and went—and came, and brought no day

Take it from me, In the darkest of times
When people are lost seeking comfort in lies
When shadows cover the earth like a flood
The cockroaches crawling out of the mud
From reason and prudence to bread and circus
Feeding the masses with tall tales and blood
Every pawn serves a purpose
Every mouth speaking up will be shut

Wake us up from this dream
Give us purpose in life

Calling the lost onto treacherous paths
Nurturing the chaos in our thoughts

Wake us up from this dream
Give us purpose in life
