Thanksgiving Day (All Around)

All around you recognize
The fire burning in my eyes
The passion place I've come to find
Is empty when you're gone
And tired hands and tired homes
Revolve around a troubled tone
Sinking into the unknown
It always calls your name

I remember when I ruled this place
Saved myself from God and grace
Always something to embrace
I remember when the time had come
Hear it loudly as a drum
The thought of it would make me numb

All around the quiet streets
Of neighborhoods where children meet
Mothers fathers obsolete
Are running with their dogs
And time will tell when time knows best
The timing of a thought confessed
A thought that's borderline obsessed
With finding out your name

I remember when I knew your name
Signed the check and played your game
Listening is all the same
I remember on Thanksgiving Day
Took the car and drove away
There isn't that much else to say

I remember when I ruled this place
Saved myself from God and grace
Always something to embrace
I remember when the time had come
Hear it loudly as a drum
The thought of it would make me numb
