Rainy Day

The camera is set on the world of today
The pallet is muted
The sky's cast with gray and
Smoke hovers over the floor
No one breathes anymore
We hold it in till we explode

And everyone's tired
We've all met our match
The theater's on fire
The bank's set to catch and
There's not much else left to say
It's a rainy day

Life stands on stilts and
Time only passes by slowly
I can't count the days anymore

It's like getting shot with a gun
But you don't hear it first and
It's only as bad as it gets but
It's never been worse and
Yesterday's gone but
Tomorrow's a long ways away

But still we exist in this time and this place
With stains on our backs and
A scar on our face and
Gas filling up in our cars but
We stay we are
Just feeling like strangers at home

And when the sun sets on
This world of today
Our cameras will follow it falling away but
Till then there's nothing to say
It's a rainy day
